Contemporary Bathroom Design - Sleek Bathroom Remodel

Updated: Jan 19

What does contemporary mean to you? People get so wrapped up in the title of design whether their style is contemporary, modern, traditional, mid-century and so on... While some have an "exact" style they love, there are many others like myself that like to occasionally mix and match and MAKE IT THEIR OWN!

As you'll see in this shoppable mood board I created, we have several Contemporary bathroom design features and a few traditional and maybe even a touch of modern.

Transitional styles blend the updated feel of contemporary bathroom design with more traditional details. To most designers, Contemporary design refers to the current and popular designs of the moment. .If your interior decorating sensibilities are marked by the use of modern and minimalist things, you are unwittingly a follower of the contemporary style.

While many consider this style to be cold and lacking warmth, modern homes with contemporary interiors are anything but that. They are warm and welcoming without being too stuffy and dingy. Defined by a sense of subtlety, simplicity, and elegance, this style focuses on the space rather than the things in it.

The soft bleached wood tones against the dark floor are heavenly and if you haven't noticed, tiling your wall is totally "IN" no matter what your style. Looking at this mirrored wall tile at first glance I was like EWWW ... but then when you see multiple sheets together it is in sane beautiful. Pairing it against the large marble wall tiles in the shower says "BLING"!!

Designer Tip : When you are shopping for finishing products like tile and flooring, do some research and look at multiple different images of the tile online. So often opinions are based off a small single tile that is displayed in the showroom and that is never going to give you the right visual.

In the end, your bathroom should be a place you can go to relax, take a nice hot bath with some eucalyptus bath salts (to soak your pain or stress away) and let it all go! Oh and don't forget to grab a glass of wine! After all you deserve it!
